Chad and Audrey met through a mutual friend from Baylor. Tim was one of Audrey’s first friends from freshman year, and rushed BYX with Chad during their spring semester of that same year. Somehow their paths never crossed during those first 4 years of college, or at least not to their knowledge.
Fast forward to the end of the spring semester of their (first) senior year: Audrey was leaving the business school and heading back to her car when she spotted Tim near the corner she was walking to. It had been several months since she saw him last, so she ran to give him a big hug without even noticing the tall handsome guy standing next to Tim! Tim then introduced that tall handsome guy to Audrey, who immediately forgot his name, and they shook hands. They all started chatting and Audrey and Chad found out they were both graduating late and would be returning to Baylor that fall. After a few minutes Tim and the tall handsome guy (whose name Audrey still couldn’t remember) said their goodbyes to Audrey and they went on their separate ways.
About two weeks later Audrey was driving through campus late one night and pulled up to the stoplight at the same corner by the business school. When she came to a stop she noticed two guys across the street holding golf clubs and tennis balls. She immediately recognized the two guys as Tim and the tall handsome guy and rolled down her window to call them over. Surprised to see her, they ran over to her car to say hi again. Tim introduced them again and, again, Audrey immediately forgot Chad’s name (whoops).
A few days later Audrey received a notification that she had a new follower request on Instagram named Chad Kelley. Not recognizing that name she decided to put her Facebook stalking skills to use and searched for him only to discover that that was the name of the tall handsome guy she had met twice. She quickly accepted his Instagram request and followed him back and sent him a request on Facebook (gotta love social media). Once they were “officially” friends, Audrey decided to send him a message on Facebook wishing him a good Memorial Day Weekend. It took her nearly four hours to send the message because she was so nervous, but thank goodness she did.
The two instantly hit it off and began sending mini novels to each other sharing stories about their childhood, their families, their favorite movies, food, and everything under the sun! They found out they were both from Houston, but unfortunately just a couple weeks after starting to get to know each other Audrey moved to Dallas for the summer for an internship, which would make seeing each other difficult. It worked out though that Audrey was going to Waco one weekend, so Chad planned a trip to meet her there so they could spend some time together. That Friday night they made two separate trips to HEB, played jacks in the middle of a Target aisle, and had their first official date at the local Cici’s. The next night Chad had the evening planned which included cooking both of their favorite meals (steak for himself & spaghetti for Audrey), playing baseball with a miniature ball and bat in his living room, and watching movies and eating ice cream in a pillow fort. It was that night, June 18, 2016, that they officially began dating!
